SISTER SREY CAFE | Siem Reap Cambodia [Food]

If there is one restaurant in Siem Reap that we highly recommend for breakfast, snacks, lunch, brunch, or  dinner, it would the Sister Srey Cafe. Before we did our Angkor Wat Tour, I asked our tour guide, to take us to a nice restaurant in the city of Siem Reap. After a few minutes in the Tuk-Tuk we finally arrived at this cafe.

When we arrived in the restaurant we liked how open it was so you could see everything that goes on around the city. In addition, we also observed the number of tourists in the area. It seemed like a very popular hang out place for tourists.

We finally found a nice seat facing the road. I liked the relaxed feel of the place. Everyone seems to be very chilled but all I could think off now was a good cup of coffee. The wi-fi works really well in this cafe too. The staff and the cafe managers were very friendly which I guess added to the over-all atmosphere in the cafe.

Sister Srey cafe was opened in November 2012 by Australian sisters Lauren and Cassie who made Siem Reap their home. WIth coffee and a desire to provide good, wholesome, fresh food, Sister Srey was born; supporting local businesses and farmers by buying local produce whenever possible.

The vision of Sister Srey Cafe is to support young Khmer students who struggle to keep a balance between study and supporting their family. Each staff member is trained in hospitality, English language skills, personal development, health and hygiene and banking.

Coffees | $ 2.50
They have a different selection of nice and strong coffee. As for me, I always prefer the Americano and a nice Capuccino for my friend. Learn to slow down, smell the aroma of a good coffee, take sip and just enjoy the day.

Big Daddy Breakfast | $6.75
Crispy bacon, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and egg, baked beans, bread, hash browns.

In addition to good coffee, I was also longing for a good breakfast. When I saw the Big Daddy Breakfast on my table. I was amazed by the generous serving. This breakfast was one of the best I had and the meal was enough to keep me going for the whole day. My tummy was happy!

Avo on Toast | $5.00
Smashed avocado on locally made bread with a poached egg, cherry tomatoes, feta and beetroot hummus.

For my friend, he ordered a delicious Avo on Toast which looked really appetizing and packed with health benefits. So if you love avocados, this one is for you. You won't regret it, I promise!

Sister Srey Beef Burger | $ 6.50
Homemade lean beef patty with all the trimmings, cheddar cheese and dressed with homemade tomato chutney served with thick cut fries.

On the next day, we want back again and I ordered a beef burger. The patty was so juicy and flavorful. Another good meal to try at Sister Srey Cafe.

Mango Smoothie and Lemon Cheesecake
A good meal deserves a tasty dessert to complete our meal and one that we could recommend is their lemon cheesecake and mango smoothie which is good enough for sharing.  The taste was so refreshing and you could really taste the lemon in it.

More than the good food they serve at Sister Srey Cafe, I think one of the reasons why we loved coming back was knowing  the contribution they make to the local community. The staff were very friendly and all served with a smile. The cafe is also walking distance to so many tourists destinations around Siem Reap making it an ideal food spot for those looking for good food in Siem Reap, Cambodia!
