Once you reach the summit,  the view was breathtaking!

Philippines is really a beautiful country! No doubt about that!

I am very sure that this event will encourage more people to join.

Alnwick Garden and Castle - Beautiful Garden, Hogwarts, Harry Potter and more in the beautiful town of ALNWICK!

Before we headed  into Scotland, a friend of mine told me to stop here Alnwick
to see the garden and the castle which was used to film some of the
Hogwarts scenes in the movie Harry Potter.

Since were passing close to Alnwick, we decided to give it a go
and do another short visit.

Entrance was 13 pounds which is around 600 Pesos per person.
What we discovered inside was well worth the cost of the entrance.
It was the most beautiful garden I've ever seen!

As you walk in at the Pavilion, you will see
this Grand Cascade and spectacular fountain display.

Be amazed by their amazing fountain display facing the Pavilion.

The Alnwick Garden is a huge place and divided into different
sections. Each section deserves a visit.

What I enjoyed a lot was we don't really have gardens like this in the
Philippines. The temperature in the UK
as perfect for flowering plants.

I guess this place was also a perfect spot for school tours.

Some people just stay here for the whole day and just RELAX!

This was when I also fell in
love with Poppies.

They have a variety of Poppies and
 they were simply gorgeous.

Another interesting section they have was the collection of different
poisonous plants called the POISON GARDEN. They have a schedule to go inside and unfortunately we didn't have enough time to wait. But I heard the guide that one of the rules was not to touch anything. Maybe some of them can cause allergic reactions when touched.

We carried on walking into the Woodlands and
all I could smell was fresh air.

If you want to know more about the Alnwick Garden, please visit their site:
http://www.alnwickgarden.com/

After a nice visit to the Alnwick Garden, don't go away yet as there's still
more to see here and that is the Alnwick Castle.

Alnwick Castle was a venue for the two very popular Harry Potter movies.
This was were the Chamber of Secrets was shot and the Philosopher's Stone.

How I wish we could have more time to explore inside the castle.
They have castle tour for 13.05 Pounds. Sounds very expensive
for some but you only do it once so go for it.

All we could do was just relax and stare at this beautiful castle.

And how glad we were stopping over at Alnwick.
Even though it's not part of our itinierary, yet, we made the right decision
to stop by and get to enjoy this magnificent place.

If you want to know more about the castle,

R3RUN FOR SUSTAINABILITY - 10th Of August 2014 - A Review from a runner perspective

Another great and successful event that took place this year was the ReRun for Sustainability. Held last 10th of August 2014 at Blue Bay walk, Macapagal Avenue, Pasay, the run aimed to inspire environmental action like Reuse, Reduce and Recycle 3R's among Filipinos and to raise awareness about climate change.

We arrived at the venue at around 3:00 am. It was quite exciting since I was joined by so many friends from different running communities.

The Blue Bay Walk for me was a fresh location for running events.
I felt like it was a good spot and I'm sure more events will take place here.

The Quanta Paper Corporation  who produces hygienic tissues and personal care products thought about this event carefully  as the turn out was quite overwhelming.

Having the same registration fee of  250.00 in all categories was also something new. I felt runners  nowadays are more aware of the registration fees being so expensive.  For a 12 km at this price, there were no complaints!

This event also had given me the chance to meet friends and to get together again for the love of running and now for the love of our environment.

We also had a chance to have a picture taken with the
Fabulous Running Divas.

The program before the run went very smoothly. I liked that they played the Philippine National Anthem which I think other events should be doing as well.

A few minutes before the gun start and our adrenaline were just pumping.

There were lots of runners on the road, I wonder if they reached over 5000 runners?
I wouldn't be surprise if they did.

On the last 4 km, 12 km runners merged along with other lower categories.

They may not have any finishers' medal but they were very generous in their loot bags.
For 250.00, it's all worth it!

Free Pocari Sweat drink were given to all the finishers.
They were also part of the hydration stations along with Maynilad.

Everybody was very happy. All smiles everywhere. Everybody was just having a great time!
Oh, the weather was also overcast which was ideal for running!

Aside from the run, Zumba dance was there to entertain all the runners. It was fun!

I made a pledge to Love Nature and Live Life to the fullest.

Most of the booths by different sponsors at the
event area started off with games like this.

PROS
Price Affordability
Very organized
Loot bags
 Nice location
 Environmental Awareness

CONS
No Finisher's Medal
 Not many photographers
