Costs of Flying Overseas in the Philippines

A lot of us Filipinos nowadays can afford to travel whether its domestic or international. But, have you ever wondered what other fees you need to pay before leaving the Philippines?

Last 21st of December 2013, we flew to Bangkok, Thailand for vacation. So as always, we parked at Park 'n Fly which took us to NAIA Terminal 3 since we were flying Cebu Pacific. It was also easy to check-in online.

Make you sure you have your Immigration Form with you already filled in. This will be given to you by one of the airport staff when you travel overseas.

Before you get your boarding pass,  you will have to pay TRAVEL TAX. After checking in your bags, you will be asked to pay for the travel tax and they will ask you to come back for the boarding pass along with the receipt so it is best to pay before checking in any luggage. Some international airfares may seem cheap, this is because Travel Tax is not yet included.

So since we are on vacation, we paid the Php 1620.00 x 2=  3240.00.

We are now done sorting out the boarding passes and travel taxes. As you enter the international departures, you have to pay for the Terminal Fee of Php 500.00

If you are an expat living in the Philippines and holding an ACR Icard, an Identification card issued by the Philippines Bureau of Immigration for foreigners from other countries staying here. You will need to pay ECC (Emigration Clearance Certificate)
Php 2380.00 as well as a Php500 called an express line fee -  all paid at the Immigration Cashier Counter.

That's a lot of money shelled out just at the NAIA airport!

A quote from a friend: "It's more expensive to leave than to live in the Philippines"

After all the payments sorted out, it's time for us to board the plane now and enjoy our overseas holiday.

As we departed, I took some pictures of Metro Manila from the sky and what can I say it's a Mega Manila!!!

Of course, once in the plane, don't forget to complete the Immigration Form for Thailand.

This will surely help the Filipinos and expats living here about the fees they need to sort out first at our international airports before they plan on leaving for an overseas destination.

Celebrate life at Fairmont Hotel in Makati

December is always a time for celebration and a time to be with someone special. It could be anniversaries, birthdays and many more. On the 14th of December 2013, we came to celebrate at Fairmont Hotel in Makati. Situated along Makati Avenue and next to Raffles Hotel and Greenbelt Mall.

This was the lobby of the hotel and those vases were huge.

Our room was on the 8th floor. The room was so cozy and elegant.
It was a nice room and  had a nice aromatic smell!
I also felt that that interior was done tastefully!

The pillows and mattress were so comfy.
All you want to do is just lay down and relax.

The smell of the rose adds up to the nice ambiance of the place.

Their spacious bathroom.

Everything you need is here. There is no need to ask for an iron and a board.
This is very good specially if you are on a business trip.

This was taken outside our room.

After a nice dinner at Greenbelt which was just next to the hotel. We decided to have a drink at the restaurant next to the lobby. They also had  a chocolate buffet from 5:00pm till 10:00pm.

As we were looking for cocktails to share that evening.
We tried this Pacquiao Punch worth Php 700.00 net. It was a strong drink but it was delicious. I think if I had one more, ill be knocked out!

We woke up early morning and what a better way to start your morning by staring at these views from our hotel room.

The view from our place was just amazing. It was a nice morning weather and
it was nice to see Makati where it's not too busy.

It was time for us to go to SPECTRUM Restaurant for breakfast.

We had luxury jams at our table. Yum! I Tried all of them and it was delicious!!!

I love breakfast buffets and I can eat non-stop. :)

I wanted to make sure that I could taste everything or at least most of it.

Spectrum restaurant was very spacious and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. I also liked that I could still see trees outside the hotel.
It made me feel close to nature still.

My first plate. I had cold cuts, salads and mixed fruits.
And the rest was history! ha ha!

Their fitness gym.

I wish I could swim though but due to time we were not able to use their pool.
Their pool was so nice and inviting though. There is a lap pool, a place to sun bathe and also a pool for the children.

Their pool side bar.

Next to the fitness gym and the hotel pool. Why not try and pamper yourself
with a massage at the Willow Stream Spa.

The time came for us to check out and what a way to spend the night. Our total bill came to around Php 10,000 including breakfast, drinks we had that evening, all the taxes and of course a great memorable experience at Fairmont Hotel.  If you check their promos, they have rates for citizens and residence. So make sure to check it out first before making any reservations.

I also want to mention the staff of the hotel for being so nice and friendly to us. I appreciate the feeling of welcome from the staff who always greeted us with a smile. I felt that it was one of the factor why this hotel was so great.

Fairmont Hotel really met our expectations based from the reviews we gathered online.
Will we come back again? DEFINITELY!
